Critique and Praxis

This peer-reviewed, online journal is currently being planned for launch in September 2017.  You are invited to submit articles to including nominations (as well as self-nominations) for editorial or reviewer positions.  A forum for commentaries is being planned to be launched at a later date.  See details below…

About “Critique and Praxis” —  the journal:  We invite original papers of any length up to 10,000 words on topics related to social and personal change that is aligned with the vision and mission of the Parkmore Institute.  We will also accept requests for republication of papers previously published yet of significance to the field of our endeavours.  Particularly requested are papers that address the psychoanalytic, psychodynamic, and psychosocial challenges of transformative praxis.

We aim to create a journal devoted to the scholarly exchange of radical ideas that are oriented to our vision of critique and praxis and that are accessible to any thoughtful person (i.e., that are not overly specialist in their vocabulary or assumptions).  Thus, we do not aim for a journal as specialized as Telos or New Left Review or even Theory and Society, but we aim for a niche in radical thinking that is different from the articles published in, for example, Dissent.  Please feel free to communicate with the ad hoc Editor on your ideas for submission…write to

Most importantly:  Please know that all articles submitted to our journal will be peer-reviewed by at least two of our Fellows or our invited panel of Reviewers. All submissions to this journal should be in English, written in scholarly style, and compatible with the standards of the American Psychological Association or the Modern Languages Association.

The first issue of the journal is projected for September 2017 !  Articles in the journal will be available to anyone interested as a PDFdownload.

About our “Commentaries” Section – the “blog”:  As the community of activists, practitioners and scholars associated with the Parkmore Institute grow, we will establish a very alive and active “blog” … offering commentaries on current affairs, etc.  This is projected for 2018 … in the meantime, please look at the “News and Updates” section of this website for information about the activities of the institute’s Faculty and Fellows.

The Parkmore Institute's office is located in Wilmington, Delaware, USA.  However, it is currently expanding and welcomes applications from prospective students, as well as potential Faculty and Fellows, from all parts of the world.
